Below is a list of foods for the John Muir Trail. In the coming weeks, I'll create a detailed meal plan for each day and post it here. By weight, I will carry more food than anything else during the hike. Having enough food is important, but carrying too much is a problem. I try to balance simplicity, variety, and nutrition with the need to focus on calorie dense foods.
