I think my love for the mountains began on our family vacations to Mammoth Lakes, California. The area is a popular ski resort during the winter, but in the summertime it is a paradise for fishing, hiking, rock climbing, mountain biking and all things outdoors. Every summer we would spend a week there for a family vacation. My dad took us fishing at one of the many lakes, and if the fish weren’t biting, I would be the first to put down my pole and go for a hike around the lake. I can remember the drive from southern California and the amazing view of the high sierra which seemed to grow and grow as we drove north. Since getting married twenty-eight years ago and spending our honeymoon in Mammoth, we have continued the family tradition of vacationing in Mammoth. Going to Mammoth Lakes feels like going home. Thanks mom and dad, I love you!
I enjoy hiking the John Muir Trail and look forward to chatting with anyone interested in finding out more about, me, the trail, or my other hiking adventures.
